Why “Evolving Minds Collective”?
To evolve is to develop, gradually.*
It was important to name the practice with words that represent what you’ll receive here. Our goal at EMC is to allow you the space to discover more about yourself, process, and learn skills specific to you that assist in your overall growth and development. We also take pride in collaborating with other practices, clinicians, and resources which is why we incorporated the word “collective”. We believe in the power of healing as a community and want to be able to provide you with whatever resource(s) you may need to support your growth.
How long will I be in therapy?
Individual Work: This all depends on what we are working on. Again, to evolve is to grow gradually which gives us a great reminder that all healing and growing takes time. Often we need to accept where we are before we can understand what we need to move forward. Together, we will figure out a flexible timeline for you.
Group Work: Groups will be on an 8 week cadence.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Our counseling services are self pay.
EMC is actively choosing not to work with any insurance providers as we believe there are clear, unresolved race-based and sex/gender-based inequalities within the healthcare and insurance system.
We understand that there are financial components to our decision and while this is our stance, it may not be yours. Upon request, we would be happy to create a “super bill” for you. This super bill will allow you to personally submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance provider. If you would like to learn more about super bills, I’d be happy to discuss this during our consultation.
*We can not guarantee that your insurance provider or individual policy will reimburse our services. A great way to get an idea of what this could look like for you is to check with your provider to see what their out-of-network coverage is.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have 36 hours & a 1 hour or less cancellation policy
Once you book a session with Evolving Minds Collective, that is your guaranteed time slot. As mental health providers, we can not double book for those “just in case” moments. We hold that space for you and only you.
What does that mean?
If you cancel or need to reschedule your session for whatever reason within 36 hours of your session, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of your session cost.
If you cancel or need to reschedule your session for whatever reason within 1 hour of your session, there is a cancellation fee of 100% of your session cost.
